Rare, highly collectible piece of 1930s American industrial history: the American Playground Device Co. Catalog No. 24. Published in Anderson, Indiana for the 1934–1935 market, this comprehensive 56-page trade catalog features their premier line of "Approved Playground Equipment." The front cover features a striking graphic of a classic heavy-duty A-frame swing set. Inside pages showcase beautifully detailed early illustrations of steel slides, merry-go-rounds, and the company's famous "Castle Tower" climbing structures.
Unique Salesman Provenance & Ephemera Included: What makes this specific copy incredibly special is its exceptional historical provenance. The opening page features the original ink hand stamp of the company's regional New England representative: John J. Schulda – 1449 Boulevard, West Hartford, Conn. Additionally, this listing includes the original accompanying mimeographed sales letter carried by Mr. Schulda. The letter bears the matching West Hartford hand stamp in the top right corner and outlines the "Special Features [of the] New No. 14 Swimming Pool Equipment Catalog," bridging the gap between the company's playground and aquatics divisions.
The catalog is in very good vintage condition with tight binding. Pages are clean with minor edge wear consistent with its 90+ year age.
