Up for sale is an original 1932 George Washington Bicentennial Commemorative Metal Bust.This heavy, non-magnetic cabinet miniature features a highly detailed, classical portrait modeled after Jean-Antoine Houdon's famous 1785 sculpture. The front of the plinth base features bold raised lettering reading: "GEORGE WASHINGTON 1732 - 1932". Crucially, the reverse side of the pedestal base is stamped with the historical foundry maker mark: "ALMAR METAL ARTS - POINT MARION, PA."It stands approximately 3.75" tall and makes an excellent addition to any political, presidential, historic Pennsylvania metalware, or Americana collection!Condition Details: The statue has a gorgeous, deep vintage patina. There is an original factory casting flaw/metal imperfection on the bridge of the nose, which is common for poured spelter pieces from this era. The metal remains structurally sound with no cracks or broken edges.
