1915 Imperial Russian Butter Market Report Postcard – Siberia to London Trade
Original 1915 Imperial Russian commercial postal card issued by E. A. Didriks, butter exporter of Barnaul, Western Siberia, a major center of the Siberian butter trade.
The card is a printed “Butter Market Information” form, completed in manuscript with butter grades, price ranges, supply volume (in poods), market conditions, and transport notes. These cards were used to send real-time commodity price reports and were normally discarded, making surviving examples scarce.
Postally used and mailed to Ellis Kislingbury & Co. Ltd., Tooley Street, London S.E., placing it directly within London’s historic butter and provisions district. An excellent example of pre-Revolution Russian commercial correspondence and WWI-era international trade.
Condition:
Typical age toning and handling wear; writing clear and legible. Please see images for details.
A scarce and historically interesting piece of Imperial Russian postal and economic history.
