Antique pocket-sized journal, measuring approx. 4\" x 6\", bound in a leather wallet cover (dry, chipped, and fragile). This piece is identified to John B. Becker of Brunnerville, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, and contains extensive handwritten entries from 1885–1891.
The pages record farm labor, day wages, corn husking, threshing, commodity sales, and settlements—a vivid record of late 19th-century Pennsylvania German agricultural life.
Early inside pages feature folk art sketches, including a detailed drawing of a hand wearing a ring, adding charm and individuality to the piece.
