Up for sale is a rare original antique 1882 illustrated commercial billhead invoice from Worcester Bros., premier dealers in high-end Furniture, Feathers, Carpetings, and Upholstery Goods.
This beautifully preserved document is dated May 1st, 1882, out of Cambridge, Massachusetts, detailing their storefront location at 23 & 25 Brattle Square. The top left corner features a striking, highly detailed Victorian woodcut engraving depicting an ornate parlor furniture suite of the period.
The invoice is made out to Mr. Frank P. Colburn for the purchase of \"1 Walnut Chamber Set\" totaling $75.00, and includes an ink-penned receipt notation at the bottom marking it paid on December 28th, 1882. The left margin lists the corporate partners: C.H., S.A., Fred\'k, and Franklin Worcester.
Collector Notes: This is an excellent piece of regional Massachusetts commercial ephemera. It holds strong appeal for collectors of antique billheads, Victorian furniture historians, and those tracking the commercial development of historic Harvard Square and Brattle Square in Cambridge.
