authentic 1953 Philip Morris Christmas holiday carton featuring beautifully rendered portraits of television icons Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz, alongside Philip Morris’s famous mascot, Johnny the Bellboy. This piece was released at the height of I Love Lucy's popularity, during the era when Philip Morris was the main sponsor of the historic sitcom.
Condition Assessment:
This carton is in excellent, collector-grade vintage condition and has been remarkably well-preserved for being over 70 years old.
• Colors & Graphics: The lithograph printing is exceptionally bright, vivid, and crisp. There is no major sun-fading, water staining, or yellowing typical of mid-century cardboard.
• Structure: The rectangular cardboard sleeve retains its excellent structural integrity with sharp corners and crisp edges. It has not been crushed or flattened.
• Flaps & Tabs: All original end flaps and tuck-in tabs are completely intact, unripped, and unfold smoothly.
• Gift Tag: The "To / From" holiday greeting tag on the side face remains completely blank and unwritten.
• Minor Flaws: There is a very faint, light pencil inscription reading "#35-" on the end face next to the "20s" text (visible in photos), and a minor, natural age-related nick on the inner tuck flap edge.
This is a premium, investment-grade piece of cross-collectible history perfect for serious collectors of vintage advertising, tobacco history, or classic Hollywood memorabilia
