P&C Hand Forged Tool Company began business in Idaho in 1914 but found its way to suburban Portland Oregon by 1924. They were successful in building a tool manufacturing business over the next 20 years. The success meant that eventually they were acquired in 1941 by the growing PLOMB/ProTo empire with whom they’d had long standing contractual agreements. P&C maintained its business as usual with PLOMB using P&C’s facilities when needed.In 1953 P&C’s stamped identification of P&C in a hexagonal box was updated to include the R-Circle registered mark following the hexagon. This Universal Joint does not have the Registered mark (see images), thus we can be certain that it was produced before 1953. More than that we cannot say.The Universal Joint is in fully-functioning condition. It is well and properly used and could be put to work successfully for another sixty years. After a more extensive cleaning it could also be added to that Show-and-Tell Accumulation of other mid-20th century Tools!We will ship the Universal Joint by USPS 1st Class Mail on the next regular business day following receipt of payment.
