Interesting group of original WWII British serviceman's handwritten and typed notes dating from 1944, apparently written while serving in North Africa. The papers include extensive descriptive accounts of local life, markets, clothing, agriculture, transport, accommodation and military experiences, together with rough notes and more developed prose, much of it heavily corrected and amended by the writer. Some sheets are written on military Home Acquittance Roll forms and there are references to artillery, ranges and French authorities. Several dates and details of movements/service are included which may provide sufficient clues for further research into the writer's identity and unit. Identity of the writer is currently unknown. Condition varies with age toning, staining/foxing, folds, creasing, edge wear, tears and some losses; please see photos for more details. An interesting original wartime research lot.
