Very unusual Vintage Chinese Canton Enamel Lidded Brass Trinket Box Shaped around a pair of characters that appear to be a mother with a son. Mother is wearing a blue robe and the child is shown wearing a yellow robe with a blue collar and a bow, the figures portrayed symbolize family ties, good fortune and connection between generations. The box is crafted from brass with painted over enamel. The yellow robe (huangpao) on the child is significant, as yellow was the imperial color reserved for the emperor but symbolically used here for auspiciousness. The sides feature pink and green floral pattern - peonies and scrolling leaves - over the light blue / teal enamel. Measures approximately 3 3/4\" wide at the widest part of the lid, 4.5 inches tall and 1 1/4 inches deep. See photos for details.
