This is a gorgeous historical ensemble that captures the timeless spirit of traditional Old Russia
This pattern includes 3 components for a complete 3 piece look
1 - The Jumper or Sundress which is a full loose dress gathered into a snug band right above the bust line that hands from shoulder straps that joint together at the center in the back
2 - The blouse is a hip length peasant blouse that features voluminous gathers a narrow neckband and a decorative shoulder yokes
3 - The apron is full and coordinates perfectly with the dress
4 - Also includes instructions for traditional embroidery
Bit of History...
This dress is a classic female peasant dress from Northern and Central Russia. Historically this dress was worn by all social classes until the early 18th century when Tsar Peter the Great banned traditional dress in cities to push Russia towards Western European styles but it remained a symbol of pride and everyday wear among rural peasants into the 20th century.
This pattern is perfect for historical reenactments or the theater or just those who are vintage fashion enthusiasts! I think it looks very comfortable and could rival any sundresses (except for the apron)
