This exceptional piece of mid-century Americana is an authentic 48-Star United States desk flag, complete with its incredibly rare, period-correct multi-port tri-pod mounting bracket. Spanning the iconic historic era between 1912 and 1959, the 48-star configuration represents the US through the peak of the post-war industrial boom and the mid-century modern home revolution. Unlike typical parade or automotive flags, this specific miniature set was expertly engineered for domestic interior display, originally sold as part of a premium weighted desk set (frequently paired with a heavy pressed glass base by manufacturers like the Sneath Glass Company). With its striking geometric lines and honest, aged bronze patina, this small-scale historical treasure speaks directly to collectors of military memorabilia, vintage office decor, and patriotic folk art.
- 48-Star Miniature United States Flag: The flag itself measures approximately 5.5 inches in width by 4 inches in height. It features a beautifully preserved, printed symmetrical grid of white stars on a vibrant navy blue canton with crisp alternating red and white stripes. The material is a high-grade, stiffened glazed cotton parade cloth that retains excellent rigidity.
- Wooden Dowel Display Staff: The flag is securely attached to its original slender wooden dowel stick, measuring 11 inches in total height. The staff has a rich, dark-stained finish and is capped with its original molded, gold-painted bullet-style decorative finial spear.
- Cast Metal Tri-Pod Desk Mount: Measures 2.25 inches from leg to leg. This industrial-style, heavy-duty cast metal 3-port mounting bracket features an architectural tripod silhouette that allows it to sit perfectly level on flat surfaces or slip into a secondary weighted glass inkwell socket. It features a central vertical channel to hold the flag upright, flanked by two angled ports meant to accommodate companion flags for a dynamic, fanned patriotic display.
