Artifact Details & Construction:
• The Insignia: Features a highly detailed, beautifully cast set of pilot wings hand-soldered to a heavy, wide cuff band. The central plane emblem is mounted over a circular backing plate displaying an era-accurate Mexican/Juarez-style signature script hallmark, a style highly common among custom souvenir jewelry found near major Texas flight-training bases during the war.
• The Engraving: The name "James L. Buckley" is applied along the lower edge using a period-correct electric vibrating graver/vibro-pen tool. Under close magnification, you can clearly see the hand-guided stippled character unique to mid-century military workshop customization, rather than a modern machine or laser cut.
