Up for sale is a highly collectible, authentic French Model 1916 (M1916) brown leather pistol holster. This teardrop/triangular style holster was originally designed and manufactured during World War I to carry the standard-issue Spanish-made Ruby .32 ACP (7.65mm) semi-automatic pistol, which was widely utilized by the French military across both World Wars.HISTORICAL PROVENANCE & MARKINGS:
This particular holster features a distinct, rare piece of history stamped inside. The underside of the top closing flap bears a crisp, original French military ink stamp that explicitly identifies its manufacturer and division designation:
- Line 1:DonGALLARD (The manufacturer\'s marking)
- Line 2:Ere Ordonnancedu Genie(1st Regulation / Standard Issue marking for gear and ordnance manufactured for French Combat Engineers)
1916 Ruby holsters in and of themselves are very scarce. To find one with these types of markings is indeed an incredibly rare find on the open market, making this an exceptional artifact for research or high-end display.PHYSICAL FEATURES & DESIGN:

- Secure single-strap closure closing onto a tight brass stud mechanism.
