Up for sale is an authentic, early American Legion Membership Lapel Pin. This is the classic screw-back style featuring the original patent date of December 9, 1919, which was granted shortly after the organization was chartered following World War I.
Design Details:
Front: Features the iconic American Legion emblem with a center "US" star, laurel wreath, and a vibrant blue enamel ring.
Reverse: The screw-back nut is clearly stamped with "PAT. DEC. 9, 1919" and includes a small diamond-shaped maker's mark.
Construction: Gold-tone brass/bronze with hard-fired enamel.
Condition:
Vintage/Antique: Shows a beautiful natural patina consistent with its 100+ year age.
Enamel: The blue enamel remains largely intact with no major chips or loss.
Hardware: The screw-back post is straight, and the original nut threads on and off smoothly.
