Description
Beautiful large vintage Victorian-style wicker doll carriage/pram, measuring approximately 18.5” tall × 18” long.
This ornate decorative carriage features a woven wicker/rattan body with braided trim, dramatic scroll ends, openwork side panels accented with wooden beads, and subtle gold-toned highlights. It rides on four wood-rimmed spoked wheels with turned wooden hubs and a black metal undercarriage. A turned wooden push handle and cream fabric-lined interior complete the old-fashioned Victorian revival appearance.
Construction and comparable examples suggest this is a later-20th-century decorative reproduction, likely dating around the 1970s–1980s, rather than an original Victorian carriage. Similar vintage decorative wicker carriages were produced in several countries, so with no surviving label or maker’s mark, the exact manufacturer and country of origin are unknown. Comparable vintage examples are marketed primarily as doll displays, nursery décor and decorative prams.
Measurements:
18.5” tall
18” long
Please see photographs for proportions and additional measurements.
Condition: Vintage pre-owned condition with visible age and use. There is wear and loss to the brown/gold finish, scattered broken/loose wicker strands, wear to the wooden wheels and some staining/soiling to the cream interior lining. The carriage retains all four wheels, its metal undercarriage, wooden handle and extensive decorative wickerwork. Please examine photographs carefully as they are an important part of the condition description.
A striking display piece for an antique or vintage doll collection, Victorian-inspired room, nursery display, photography prop, floral display, or cottage décor.
