This beautiful vintage “School Days: My Book of Remembrance” was published by C.R. Gibson & Co. of Norwalk, Connecticut and dates to approximately the early 1930s. The interior is filled with gorgeous period line drawings, Art Deco-influenced typography, school-themed prompts, sports illustrations, personality pages, classmate spaces, and decorative layouts intended to preserve the memories of a young woman’s school years. Yale’s documented scrapbook collection dates this title to circa 1932.
The pale blue cord-bound cover features a stylish illustration of schoolgirls climbing steps and retains its original tie binding.
Inside you’ll find themed pages including areas for school days, personality, sports, classmates, favorites, activities, and other school memories, along with 12 double-sided blank pages ready for photographs, clippings, autographs, notes, or ephemera.
The best part? The interior appears entirely unused, which is increasingly difficult to find with memory books of this age.
Condition is authentically vintage. The exterior shows visible age staining, discoloration, spots, marks, and wear, and some interior pages show age toning and scattered foxing. The binding cord also shows age and fraying. I would not clean or “improve” any of this beyond gentle handling because the years are part of the object now.
