A striking vintage hand-carved wooden folk-art mask attributed to Thailand, featuring an expressive grinning monkey-like face crowned by an intricately carved cobra serpent.
The mask is distinguished by its dramatic composition, with broad pointed ears, raised circular eyes, an angular nose, and an oversized toothy grin. Rising from the forehead is a three-dimensional hooded cobra, carefully detailed with incised scales and a segmented neck.
Rich natural honey-brown wood is complemented by reddish-brown, charcoal, and muted earthy accents. Visible carving marks and a warm aged patina enhance its sculptural character.
Believed to date to the 1950s–1970s, this mask was likely produced as decorative folk art. It makes an exceptional statement piece for a vintage mask collection, Southeast Asian art display, eclectic gallery wall, or collected interior.
