Thesteel has been gently cleaned using fine steel wool and light oil to preservethe original, authentic mid-century dark patina rather than stripping it withharsh acids. All three pieces display beautiful historic dark spots andcharacter appropriate for their age. The 1/4\" and 1/2\" chisels areclean of active rust. The 1-1/2\" chisel shows some minor, stable historicpitting and localized rust spots from age, but the steel remains structurallysound with plenty of blade life left. No modifications or aggressive grindinghave been performed. Sold exactly as pictured.
