Description:
Unusual vintage porcelain souvenir holder featuring a finely detailed black transfer image identified on the front as “ST MARK’S CHURCH, NIAGARA.”
The white porcelain body has an ornate shaped opening, four-footed base and decorative gold gilt scrollwork. The architectural church scene has excellent fine detail and gives the piece strong historical and Niagara souvenir appeal.
Exact original use is uncertain; the form may have served as a small souvenir receptacle, toothpick/match holder or decorative holder. No maker’s mark was observed, so no manufacturer attribution is made.
