Beautiful vintage Sankyo ceramic music box featuring a large dimensional double-wing butterfly above an ornate floral base.
This is the larger approximately 8-inch-tall version, rather than the smaller 6-inch examples more commonly seen.
The piece is finished in a glossy ivory/cream glaze with subtle iridescent tones. The butterfly features openwork wings and a highly dimensional design, with sculpted flowers and foliage decorating the base.
The underside contains an original Sankyo wind-up music box movement and is marked "SLEEPING BEAUTY."
Tested and working properly — winds, plays music and operates as intended.
