This vintage statue of Saint Jude the Apostle is 12 1/4\" tall and 4 1/4\" wide, 3 1/4\"/3 1/2\" hex base.

\"St. Jude is the Patron Saint of Hope and impossible causes and one of Jesus’ original twelve Apostles. He preached the Gospel with great passion, often in the most difficult circumstances. … After the death and resurrection of Jesus, St. Jude traveled throughout Mesopotamia, Libya, and Persia with St. Simon preaching and building up the foundations of the early Church. St. Jude died a martyr’s death for his unwavering faith. His body was later brought to Rome and placed in a crypt under St. Peter\'s Basilica.\" I love the imperfections in this piece, the warped shape of the saint\'s head, in particular. You can tell it was painted by hand, and it has a charm to it that is reminiscent of folk art. Perfect piece for the person who has lost hope, even if not a Catholic. Saints are cultural as much as religious, and just as some people talk to plants or nature as a way of getting in touch with their own heart and soul, a saint statue can represent that \"someone\" to talk to.
