Charming pair of vintage Mexican / Southwestern folk art paintings, featuring colorful traditional scenes with wonderful period character. One painting depicts a figure in a bright yellow sombrero riding a burro through a desert landscape, accompanied by prickly pear cactus and a small adobe-style dwelling in the distance. The companion painting depicts a seated figure wearing a large yellow sombrero, resting beside an adobe wall with a tall cactus in the background. The works appear to be hand-painted watercolor/gouache on paper, with black outlined details and colorful washes.
