VINTAGE MATSON LINES OCEAN LINER GLASS ASHTRAY
A wonderful piece of vintage Pacific ocean liner memorabilia from the legendary Matson Lines, featuring three of the company's celebrated passenger ships:
SS LURLINE • SS MARIPOSA • SS MONTEREY
The center features the classic Matson emblem in gold with the three ship names surrounding it in blue and the distinctive Matson Lines script logo below.
The ashtray is made of substantial glass with a subtle green tint and three cigarette rests. The center decoration appears on the underside of the glass, allowing the surrounding surface to remain transparent.
Matson's famous passenger liners carried generations of travelers across the Pacific during the golden age of luxury ocean travel, particularly between California, Hawaii and destinations throughout the South Pacific. Today, surviving Matson souvenirs are collected as reminders of this glamorous era of trans-Pacific passenger service.
An appealing collectible for enthusiasts of Matson Lines, Hawaii, ocean liners, maritime history, vintage travel, steamship memorabilia, and mid-century Pacific tourism.
