Beautiful and unusual vintage brass botanical sculpture featuring tall wheat stalks rising from an intricate, root-like freestanding base. The wheat heads are individually formed with wonderful dimensional detail, accented by slender brass leaves and an especially charming sculpted bee/insect resting on one of the stalks.
Measures approximately 15” tall with a 9.5” wide base.
This is a substantial, sculptural piece with lots of hand-worked detail. The branching root-style base allows it to stand freely and gives the sculpture an almost natural, growing appearance.
I have carefully examined the piece and have not found a maker’s signature or identifying mark, so the artist/maker is unknown.
Vintage condition with age-appropriate patina, surface wear and variations to the brass finish. Please review photos closely, as they are part of the description.
A striking piece of Mid-Century/1970s-style metal art for a shelf, console, mantel or collection of vintage brass décor.
