VINTAGE JAPANESE NAGOYA OBI
A beautiful vintage Japanese obi featuring vivid deep pink floral embroidery on a deep black background.
The striking contrast between the black fabric and bright pink flowers makes this obi especially eye-catching. Silver lame accents are incorporated into the floral design, adding a subtle sparkle when viewed under light.
This is a wonderful example of traditional Japanese textile design with a distinctive Showa-era vintage character.
According to the family history, this obi was worn by my mother approximately 60 years ago.
Despite its age, it is in exceptionally clean condition with very little apparent sign of use.
The material is not indicated on the obi itself. The paper bag in which the obi was stored is marked "Tsumugi" (紬), as shown in the photos. Therefore, I cannot guarantee the exact fiber content and recommend judging the material from the photographs and description.
The fabric has a moderate thickness and a smooth, dry hand feel.
