STUNNING VINTAGE JAPANESE CANDLESTICK ROTARY TELEPHONE

Beautiful vintage Japanese candlestick-style telephone finished in glossy black with striking brass-tone accents and a genuine mechanical rotary dial.
Unlike many vintage telephones offered strictly for display or sold untested, THIS TELEPHONE HAS BEEN FULLY TESTED AND IS WORKING.
The rotary dial operates properly, the telephone rings, and the receiver/transmitter functions have been tested. This is a functional vintage telephone as well as an outstanding decorative statement piece.
The underside retains its original “MADE IN JAPAN” label.
This telephone was produced as a functional vintage reproduction of the classic early candlestick telephone design. It is NOT being represented as an original early-1900s candlestick telephone. It is believed to date approximately to the 1960s-1970s era.
The design is fantastic.
It features a tall black candlestick body, separate hanging receiver, large round transmitter marked “HOLD CLOSE TO MOUTH,” ornate brass-tone rotary finger wheel and contrasting black-and-white number dial. The combination gives it the unmistakable appearance of a much earlier telephone while retaining the functionality of a later rotary telephone.
It would make an exceptional statement piece in a home office, library, study, bar, restaurant, hotel, theater set, vintage display or telephone collection. Even when it is not being used as a telephone, it has tremendous visual presence.
CONDITION IS INCORPORATED HERE:
The telephone presents extremely well and retains a beautiful glossy black finish. The brass-tone components have developed attractive age-related patina and character.
There are scratches, scuffs, finish wear, small marks, oxidation/tarnish and other signs of age and previous use. Of particular note, there is an area of finish loss on the upright column, along with normal wear around the receiver hook and metal hardware. These imperfections are photographed and, in my opinion, contribute to the authentic vintage character of the piece rather than detracting from its display appeal.
Please examine all photographs carefully for exact cosmetic condition. The photos show the actual telephone you will receive and are considered part of the description.

It retains its older four-prong telephone plug/adapter arrangement as photographed.
IMPORTANT: This is vintage telephone equipment designed for traditional analog telephone service. Although the telephone itself has been tested and is working, compatibility with a buyer\'s particular modern telephone provider, VoIP equipment, PBX, fiber service or other telephone system cannot be guaranteed. Some modern systems may require an appropriate adapter or pulse-dial compatible equipment.
This is an especially attractive example because it offers both worlds: the dramatic appearance of an early candlestick telephone and an actual functional rotary telephone.
Whether purchased by a telephone collector or simply used as a statement piece, it is the kind of object people immediately notice.
