Vintage Indian Sikh ceremonial kirpan / decorative dagger featuring a beautifully detailed lion or tiger head hilt, an engraved curved blade, and its original-style red velvet-covered sheath with ornate gold-tone metal fittings.
The piece has wonderful visual character. The sculpted animal-head handle, traditional curved form, decorative engraving and rich red velvet create a striking old-world Indian appearance. The blade also features script and ornamental etched designs, adding to its distinctive character.
Measures approximately 13.5 inches long when fully sheathed. The sheath measures approximately 1.5 inches wide at its widest point.
