They do have discoloration along the wood frames that I’m not sure if a special cleaning would help or if it’s stained from age. I did wipe down and a lot off but I don’t want to cause damage. Some of nails are seen on the side as shown in photos. One photo, the second from the left looks like it might not be completely flat at the top; honestly I didn’t even notice it until I took them outside to get these photos. I love them but just don’t have space. They measure approx 15.5 x 8.5
