Vintage hand-carved wooden swan in a wonderful resting/preening pose with beautifully curved neck and carved feather detailing. The underside is marked MADE IN MAINE, adding to its American folk art and regional appeal.
Measures approximately 15" long. Constructed of solid wood with a warm natural/honey finish. Features incised feather decoration and a dark inset eye. Unsigned; maker and exact age are unknown as this came out of an estate.
Displays beautifully as American folk art, a decoy collection piece, rustic lodge/cabin décor or coastal New England décor.
Vintage pre-owned condition with age-related surface wear, scratches, marks, small cracks/separations and finish wear as shown. The underside shows tool/construction marks, aging, pencil notation and the Made in Maine mark. These characteristics contribute to its rustic vintage appearance.
Please review all photographs closely as they are an important part of the condition description.
