This vintage, hand carved hardwood figurine is both beautiful and exotic. The carving is very detailed. The partially nude woman is wearing a little coverlet at the shoulders and a wrapped skirt. It appears she may actually be wrapping the skirt in the pose. She has beautiful facial features and there is great detail to her hair, to the hat, and to her feet. The wood is very dense, like ironwood, and heavy and the item weighs just over 2 pounds. She is 16 inches tall, 4 1/2 inches wide, and about 3 inches in depth. This is a beautiful item in very good condition. Photos are magnified. Item is not marked, but assumed to be Indonesian. I have owned it a long time - about 25 years - and purchased it at an upscale consignment shop for more than the current list price - downsizing.
