Vintage Fantasia Fiber Optic Lamp Love Bug 1001 w/ Comet 1000 Motor to rotate both the color wheel and the fiber puffball. Rare Love Bug 1001 transitional model that had the Comet 1000 motor assembly installed. I cannot tell if it was indeed factory installed or switched out after manufacturing but the internals look original. These are often called franken-lamps or franken-bugs. Please see the photos. The fiber puffball looks to be in overall good condition as well as the lamp body, though the body does show signs of its age. The light lights up fine and the motor spins with a light squeak here and there. But one flaw I must point out is that the switch is intermittent. If you move the cord near the switch the lamp will cut in and out and you can hear arcing in the switch. I could replace the switch with a modern one, but I’m thinking a collector would rather use an original spare, so I’m leaving that up to the buyer. Still a rare variation priced accordingly. Sold as is, no returns. Will be packed well.
