Five vintage Chinese Peking glass snuff bottles. This group focuses strictly on the traditional "cameo overlay" technique, where a secondary colored layer of glass is carved away to reveal a contrasting background layer. These pieces feature color pop and mythical, figural, or natural motifs. Due to some standard vintage wear and specific condition flaws noted of a missing spoon, this lot is sold as-is for parts and/or restoration. This 5-piece collection includes:
1. Red Overlay Animal Motif: Translucent red cameo layer carved over a frosted clear glass ground, depicting a spirited horse/animal motif racing amidst stylized ruyi clouds. (Condition: Flawless body. Includes pale green stone cap mounted to an authentic black glass seating ring with a fully intact white spoon).
2. Black Lily Snowflake Glass: Jet-black silhouette cameo layer carved over a unique, speckled clear "snowflake glass" background, showing growing lily pad sprigs. (Condition: Flawless body. Stopper cap, cork, and white spoon are fully intact).
3. Red Bird on Yellow Ground: Vibrant ruby-red cameo overlay carved over a heavily textured, speckled yellow-ochre glass body depicting a songbird resting on a branch. (Condition: Flawless body. Stopper cap and cork are present).
4. Blue Plant/Leaf Stalks: Deep cobalt-blue cameo layer carved over a frosted white background, detailing leafy plant stalks and molded decorative shoulder tabs. (Condition: Flawless body. Green stone stopper cap, cork, and dark organic spoon are fully intact).
5. Green Phoenix Overlay: Olive-green cameo layer carved over an opaque milky-white glass ground, displaying a detailed legendary Phoenix bird (Fenghuang) with spread wings. (Condition: Flawless body. The yellow/green mottled stone cap and green collar ring are loose/detached; inner cork and spoon are missing).Condition Summary:
All 5 main glass bottle bodies are structurally sound with no major cracks or chips to the carved artwork layers. Stoppers have minor vintage wear, a broken spoon, or are loose/missing internal corks as detailed above and shown in close-up photos.
