Decorative vintage Chinese cloisonné lidded container with a deep cobalt-blue ground and detailed multicolor enamel work.The body is decorated with paired birds surrounded by scrolling floral and cloud-like designs in turquoise, green, yellow, white and red. The fitted lid carries a complementary floral design with a central geometric motif. Brass-tone wirework separates the enamel fields and brass-tone bands finish the rim, body and base.A substantial piece at approximately 1 lb. 5 oz., suitable as a decorative jar, trinket container, tea caddy or addition to an Asian decorative arts collection.Exact age and maker are not confirmed.
