Pair of seated Chinese Emperor and Empress figurines, each about 6 inches tall. They’re heavy for their size and have a solid, stone-like feel.The Emperor has a long beard and a round official’s hat topped with a knob finial. He wears a long strand of court beads, and his robe has dragon detailing across the back.The Empress wears an ornate headdress and a long strand of beads, and she holds a fan or scroll in her lap.Both sit on thrones with clawed feet and flared lotus-style bases. Swirling cloud patterns are worked into the robes. The cream finish has a dark antiqued wash in the details that brings out the texture.Material: believed to be a cast resin or bonded stone composition. The bases are unmarked.Condition: good, with some minor wear consistent with age. There are small specks, pits and light marks on the bases.
