This is a vintage Chinese export porcelain ginger jar featuring a striking matte cerulean/cobalt blue background. The body is heavily adorned with vibrant, thickly enameled hand-painted pink peony blossoms, ripening peaches, and split pomegranates—traditional Chinese motifs representing wealth, prosperity, and longevity.
This piece features traditional alphanumeric factory production markings stamped on the underside of the base ("5-3") and inside the rim of the lid ("5-10"), identifying it as a mid-to-late 20th-century export item from Jingdezhen Factory No. 5. The base also features the classic red stamp reading "For decorative purpose only not for food use," authenticating its production timeline from the late 1970s to the 1980s.
