Vintage Camillus New York USA Folding Budding / Grafting / Pruning Knife – Wood Handle
For sale is a vintage Camillus folding budding/grafting/pruning knife with wood handles and a brass budding spatula/bark-lifter tool. The tang is marked CAMILLUS / NEW YORK / U.S.A. This is an older working knife style commonly associated with gardening, nursery, grafting, budding, and pruning use.
Approximate measurements from photos:
Closed length: about 3 5/8 inches
Blade length: about 2 3/4 inches
Overall open length: about 6 inches
Condition:
My goal is to describe each knife honestly and conservatively, without overstating age, rarity, originality, or condition. When I am unsure about a detail, I try to say so plainly rather than present a guess as fact.
This knife is in used vintage condition with clear signs of age and prior use. The blade has heavy patina, dark spotting, pitting, scratches, edge wear, and evidence of sharpening/use. The blade tip and edge show wear consistent with an older working knife. The tang stamp is visible but worn/dirty from age and oxidation.
The wood handles show scratches, dings, dents, staining, small gouges, and general handling wear. The bolsters, liners, and pins show tarnish, oxidation, discoloration, and age-related wear. The brass budding/bark-lifter tool appears to be present, but please review the photos closely for its condition and position.

For sale is a vintage Camillus New York USA No. 1 folding hawkbill utility knife. The tang is marked CAMILLUS / NEW YORK / U.S.A., with a “1” pattern/model stamp on the opposite side. This knife has a single hawkbill-style blade and a brass liner lock release.
This pattern is commonly associated with pruning, utility, lineman, electrician, rope, cord, cable, and general working-knife use. It resembles knives used for cable, cord, and utility work, but this listing does not claim military issue.

This knife is in used vintage condition with clear age and work wear. The blade has heavy patina, dark spotting, scratches, pitting, edge wear, and evidence of prior sharpening/use. The hawkbill blade still presents well as an old working knife, but it is not mint or near mint.
The handle scales show scratches, dents, staining, small gouges, and general handling wear. Bolsters, liners, pins, and metal surfaces show tarnish, oxidation, discoloration, and age-related wear. The brass piece is the liner lock release, not a second blade or bark-lifter tool.
I am describing this as a vintage Camillus No. 1 hawkbill pruner / utility knife. Please review all photos closely for condition, blade shape, tang stamp, handle wear, and overall appearance.

I put time into photographing and describing each knife as accurately and conservatively as I can, including flaws or uncertainty. My goal is for the buyer to know what they are getting before it arrives, not to be surprised afterward.
Photos are of the exact knife being sold and are intended to show the condition as clearly as possible. I try to point out any notable wear, damage, repair, or age-related issues, but buyers should use the photos and description together in forming their own opinion. Please ask any questions before offerding or buying.
