Beautiful vintage double-sided folk art brass floating frame, showcasing raw hand-soldered artisan construction and a beautiful curation of cottagecraft art inserts. Measuring 15cm x 10cm, this heavy metal reliquary-style book frame features a visible soft-solder technique along the raw brass tracking and side hinges, giving it a unique workshop character completely distinct from sterile, machine-pressed modern reproductions. The frame securely locks shut using an elegant, hand-formed brass wire slide catch that clamps the dual glass panes firmly together. Inside, the frame displays a multi-layered arrangement of handmade textile and paper art, featuring an intricately embroidered linen applique patch of wisteria blossoms and a white dove on one side, an original botanical watercolor painting of wildflowers on the reverse, and a hidden calligraphic scripture card featuring Isaiah 41:13 beautifully penned alongside watercolor bluebells.
This unique piece of religious folk art is in excellent pre-owned vintage condition. The heavy brass track frame and elegant top wire catch are structurally sound, operating smoothly and holding the glass sandwich tightly in place. The dual glass panes remain crisp and transparent, entirely free from major surface scratches, cloudy storage haze, or edge fractures. The textured brown hanging ribbon is firmly attached to the integrated top loops, showing only minor, honest edge fraying consistent with age and past wall display. It does not come with original box packaging but will be meticulously packed with multi-layered bubble wrap and rigid protective cardboard panels to guarantee a completely safe arrival.
