Vintage Alpine-style metal cowbell featuring a decorated black leather collar, colorful woven/wool fringe, and ornate brass-tone appliqués depicting traditional pastoral imagery including a cow, herdsman and dog.
The bell has a substantial metal body with a working internal clapper and measures approximately 12 inches overall including the strap. The decorative leather section features contrasting yellow stitching, red accents, multicolor fringe in red, green, yellow, white and burgundy, and detailed metal ornaments.
The bell itself shows an attractive naturally aged brass/bronze-tone finish with surface patina, oxidation, dark spotting, casting/forming irregularities and normal wear consistent with age. The body has visible construction seams and an intact internal clapper mechanism.
