IT WANTS ITS WHITE CHOCOLATE BACK.Before the internet, before smartphones, and before anybody knew why their VCR was permanently blinking 12:00, Nestlé was apparently issuing COLLECTOR’S SERIES CHOCOLATE TINS.This vintage 1988 Nestlé Alpine White with Almonds tin originally contained 7.5 ounces of chocolate and is proudly identified on the side as:“Second Design in a Collectors Series.”That’s right. This wasn’t merely chocolate packaging.THIS WAS A SERIES.Somewhere out there may be Design Number One, presumably sitting beside a cassette copy of Faith and somebody’s Swatch collection.The tin is EMPTY—because if the original 1988 chocolate were still inside, we would be having an entirely different conversation.Shows vintage age and storage wear including scratches, scuffs, label wear/residue and other signs of its long journey from the Reagan administration.
