Vintage 1966 Zippo USMC Beechcraft UC-12 Huron Lighter Aviation Marines 1970\'s
\\
This is an authentic vintage Zippo lighter featuring U.S. Marine Corps aviation imagery tied to the Beechcraft UC-12 “Huron”, a military transport and utility aircraft introduced into Marine service in the mid-1970s.
The lighter displays the Beechcraft logo above a detailed UC-12 aircraft illustration, with bold “MARINES UC-12” designation beneath — a design typically associated with aviation units, squadron use, or military base exchange issue, rather than modern souvenir production.
Dating & Authenticity
• Zippo case: Bradford, PA — likely dating the case to circa 1966
• This timeframe aligns precisely with the UC-12’s early and peak USMC service years
• Original period insert: Stamped A 25 (January 1985), retained and included
• Additional Zippo factory replacement insert included (barcode-marked)
Factory Service History
• The hinge was professionally serviced by Zippo
• This is a factory repair, not an aftermarket or field repair
• Lid opens and closes properly with correct alignment
Condition Notes
• Honest surface wear consistent with age and service use
• Scratches and scuffs visible, especially to the chrome finish
• Color fill and graphics remain clear, legible, and intact
