Original Vintage 1960s Original Tip\'s Ann Jardine Restaurant Menu Vine Street Hollywood California
Tip Jardine opened his first restaurant in 1925 — the cover of this menu reads \'Established 1925, Tip Jardine\' — and by 1947 he had run his Hollywood restaurant on Vine Street for more than two decades, along with another in Santa Monica. Tip\'s grew into a small Southern California chain after the Newhall Land and Farming Co. recruited Jardine in 1947 to open at Castaic Junction, and became a Santa Clarita Valley mainstay for half a century. The Castaic Junction Tip\'s carries the disputed legend of James Dean\'s last stop on September 30, 1955: former manager Carmen Cummings said Dean sat at the counter for apple pie and milk, while Dean\'s mechanic Rolf Wutherich said the stop was Blackwell\'s Corner. The closing date of the Vine Street original is not documented; the Tip\'s at the old Highway 99 junction closed around 1967.
It measures 11.25\" x 8.75\" closed and 17.5\" x 11.25\" open
