Vintage 1940s 60s Family Life Lot 5 Photos 1.75x2-3.5x3.5 B&W Gelatin Orig
Original vintage mid-20th-century American family snapshot photographs on paper, offered as a lot of five small domestic and portrait views.
One sepia-toned outdoor view shows an older woman seated on broad stone steps with a young child on her lap in front of a house with tall windows and a columned porch.
Another small square print pictures a woman in a sleeveless dress and strand of pearls standing behind a frosted rectangular cake with candles, flanked by a boy at left and a girl at right at a dining table in a home interior.
A smaller black-and-white portrait snapshot depicts a young man reclining in front of a lace-curtained window in a knit sweater with a circular emblem, his name George neatly written in ink along the lower front margin.
The central square photograph presents a woman in a light short-sleeved dress seated cross-legged in an upholstered armchair beneath a tall floor lamp, with patterned wallpaper, carpet, and nearby furniture giving a detailed mid-century living-room setting.
The fifth image is a studio-style head-and-shoulders portrait of a girl with curled hair tied back with a bow, wearing a printed blouse or dress; the plain back carries a handwritten date Jan. 19, 1940. in ink near one corner.
The photographs are printed on photographic paper with narrow white borders; backs include plain unprinted surfaces, a faint Kodak paper mark with the stamped code 627C., a playful abstract pen drawing, and the dated inscription noted above.
The lot consists of five loose, unmounted, unframed original family photographs only; any brass display stand or other props visible in the listing images are used solely for scale and presentation and are not included.
A separate handwritten slip included with the lot reads American Family Life set of 5 photos with approximate size notes 3.5 x 3.5, 3 x 3, 2.5 x 3.5, 1.75 x 2.5, and 2.75 x 2.
Actual Measurements: ≈ 3.5 x 3.5 in, 3 x 3 in, 2.5 x 3.5 in, 1.75 x 2.5 in, 2.75 x 2 in.
Condition: Original vintage mid-20th-century American family snapshot photographs on paper with typical handling and storage wear from age and use. Image surfaces show overall age toning, scattered small marks, and faint surface scuffs, with a strong vertical crease running through the seated woman living-room view and a small corner crease at the upper right of the stone steps scene. The cake party print shows mild overall fading, and the small portrait of the boy George carries an ink name caption on the front and a pen doodle on the back. The dated girl portrait remains clear, and backs across the lot display light discoloration, a few small stains, and one stamped code 627C but no tears or paper loss. The photographs are offered as five loose unmounted and unframed original prints only, with any display stand or other props visible in the listing images used solely for scale and presentation and not included.
