Vintage circa 1940s–1950s American Thermos Products metal lunch box, made in Norwich, Connecticut, USA.
Classic early utilitarian lunchbox design with black metal construction, rounded dome top, double front latches, carrying handle and interior wire bracket for securing a thermos.
Marked on the bottom: “A THERMOS® Product – The American Thermos Products Co. – Norwich, Conn. U.S.A.”
Authentic vintage condition with substantial age-related wear, including scratches, scuffs, finish loss, worn edges, oxidation and areas of surface rust, particularly to the interior. The letter “V” is embossed on the front, and “McCay” is handwritten inside the lid from a previous owner.
A great example of an early American metal lunchbox with plenty of original character. Excellent for a vintage lunchbox collection, Americana display, industrial decor, workshop storage or prop styling.
