Collection of original Victorian-era Christmas newspaper and magazine supplements dating from approximately 1885-1887. Includes examples from Frank Leslie's Illustrated Newspaper, Harper's Weekly, The Graphic, The Illustrated News, and other period publications. Features numerous full-page and double-page illustrations, advertisements, holiday scenes, color plates, and Christmas-themed artwork.
This item shows heavy wear including scratches, discoloration, staining, foxing, creases, folds, tears, rips, pages torn in half, missing pages, missing sections of pages, edge wear, paper loss, tape repairs, tape residue, and signs of age and use throughout. The binding is heavily damaged and reinforced with tape. Most or all pages are loose or partially detached from the binding, and many pages are no longer securely attached. Covers show wear, damage, and deterioration. Completeness is unknown, and this collection is being sold as found. This album measures approximately 12.25" x 16.75".
