This vintage WWII (World War 2) Sweetheart Pin features the All-American US Army Airborne 82nd Division, connected by chain to a Parachutist Badge (Jump Wings). The AA badge is approx. 0.5\" tall x 0.25\" wide; the Jump Wings are approx. 0.5\" across. This was commonly given to loved ones or family of the soldier to show support.The 82nd Airborne is famous for being an elite, rapid-response force know as \"America\'s Guard of Honor,\" famous for its swift parachute deployments in critical conflicts from WWI to modern day, its \"All-American\" patch, it \"AA\" designation from its origins, and its elite, highly-trained paratroopers specializing in forcible entry operations, making them central to the U.S. military\'s quick reaction force.
