Sweet Vintage Twin Donut Vitrified Commercial Restaurant Ware Advertising Coffee Mug from the Beloved NYC, New York Donut Bakery. Heavy. Circa 1990’s. Made in the USA. Holds approx. 7-8oz volume. A HTF classic!
Fun fact: While the donut we know today with a traditional hole in the middle is often credited to Captain Hanson Gregory, it was his mother, Elizabeth Gregory, who could be credited with creating the filled donut. Before her son began poking the dough to create holes, she would fill the middle with walnuts or hazelnuts, just in case the doughy middle part didn’t cook all the way through. Thus the “dough-nut” was coined!
Item is in very good used condition with no chips, cracks, stains, crazing, or repairs. Some scuffing on bottom ring commensurate with use. Smoke-free origin and storage.
