This very detailed hand-painted ceramic miniature building is a replica of the Storch House, one of the colorful row houses that lines the Old Town Square in Prague, the Czech Republic. The real house, also known as the House of the Stone Madonna, was named for publisher Alexander Storch who owned and restored it in 1896. This miniature was made in the Czech Republic as part of a series of historic Prague buildings. It is made of glazed ceramic or porcelain, intricately detailed and hand-painted to show all the beauty of the building's architecture, including the name "A.Storch" above the arched main doorway. The miniature stands 4.25" tall on a 1.5" by 1.25" base. The building is in very good condition. It does have a small area on the back edge that is flattened out and a dark area on the one back corner. Please see photos. It is marked on top the bottom with a k in a circle and a t (l believe). It has its original price sticker on the bottom. Prague is a city of magnificent Old World architecture, and this miniature is an unusual and great example of it. Thank you for looking!
