Lot of 16 vintage novelty wooden fish with tags. I think these are from the 1930's or early 1940's. The fish are 5" long, jigsaw cut from a light colored wood and stamped on one side with basic fish features and the message "IF YOU WANT TO CATCH ME, USE THE RIGHT BAIT". Attached with string is a tag that is printed with basically the same message and the image of a cartoon boy and girl. Fifteen of the fish have this cute tag attached. One fish has a plain Dennison tag with some tears. All pieces show a little wear. I think they were a dime store novelty- little cheeky message of interest in someone. I think they'd be cute gift tags, valentines, key chains or tree ornaments.
