This publication is devoted to the detailed history of the highest Soviet order - the Order of Lenin. For the first time, the history of the award's establishment is described, the design of the order's badge and its evolution are described, and the production issues related to the manufacture of the order's badges are described. Information about the award and those awarded the order is provided in sufficient detail. A special section is devoted to the classification of the Order of Lenin badges of different periods, which takes into account even the smallest varieties, including silver, screw-shaped gold, with a platinum bas-relief, pendant. Among other things, it tells about duplicates of the order, award documents, and much more. A separate chapter of the book is devoted to the Order of Stalin, which was never finally approved and remained only in the form of design samples and drawings, which are considered here. The Appendix contains written acts - decrees, regulations on the Order of the Red Banner of various periods, technical documentation, etc., which are directly related to the Order of the Red Banner. The perception of the material is helped by numerous statistical tables, historical photographs and illustrations - objects stored in domestic museums, as well as private collections in Russia, Ukraine, Germany, and Canada.
