To Have and Have Not Movie Still Bogart Bacall 1944 - Original Photo:
$90.00

An original (not modern reprint) 8x10" vintage photo from a massive estate collection of original movie stills and publicity photos.

Photo Overview

Lauren Bacall sits on Humphrey Bogart’s lap in a romantic close-up from the Warner Bros. film “To Have and Have Not,” with Bacall in a striped robe gazing down at Bogart, who looks up at her while seated beside a typewriter on a desk. This classic Hollywood publicity still captures one of the most iconic screen couples of the 1940s in an intimate interior scene from the movie, identified on the front by the code “TH-43” and on the reverse by handwritten notations “Bogart Bacall Have + Have Not.”

Humphrey Bogart and Lauren Bacall’s first pairing in “To Have and Have Not” (released in 1944) launched one of cinema’s great romantic partnerships, both on screen and off, quickly leading to their marriage and further legendary collaborations like “The Big Sleep” and “Key Largo.” Original publicity stills featuring the two together from this film are highly collectible centerpieces for classic film and Golden Age Hollywood collections, so securing this piece now adds a timeless, investment-worthy highlight to your display.

Text Present

Front lower right corner (white margin):
“TH-43”

Back, upper right in pencil:
“20” with a check mark

Back, right center in pencil:
“Bogart
Bacall
Have + Have Not”

Print analysis:
Single weight glossy fiber-based paper consistent with 1940s-1950s studio publicity stills, with a studio still code “TH-43” on the front and pencil notations on the back but no later reissue markings or modern processing stamps. The photographic quality and paper surface indicate a darkroom-developed silver gelatin print, most likely produced by Warner Bros. for press use close to the film’s original release. Based on style, paper, and wear, this is best classified as an original Type 1 studio publicity photo, printed circa 1944-1945.

Condition: Good to excellent vintage condition. Some of our older photos may have age wear, coloring, creases, or other imperfections. Please see photos for detailed scans of both sides.
